As a part of EU-funded EU4AGRI, EU4AGRI-Recovery and EU4BusinessRecovery projects, on Wednesday, 28 December, a Public Call was launched for allocation of grants as a support measure to mitigate negative impacts of market disturbances and climate change in primary agricultural production.

The Call aims to contribute to mitigating the negative disruption on the market of raw materials in 2022 for agricultural and food sector in BiH as a result of Covid-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine, as well as to mitigating climate change on the agricultural and food sector in BiH, optimising operating costs, maintaining productivity, liquidity and competitiveness of agricultural and food sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and supporting stabilization of existing value chains from primary production to processing and market placement of products.

This intervention support measure will be realised through financial support for procurement of mineral fertilizers, irrigation and sprinkling systems, and financial support for frost protection.

Eligible applicants

Eligible applicants for this Public Call are micro, small and medium-sized enterprises and/or cooperatives with an established network of subcontractors/individual agricultural producers (hereinafter subcontractors) engaged in production and/or processing and/or purchase and/or storage and/or marketing of fresh agricultural and ready-made food products.

Funds available under this Public Call amount to BAM 2 million, and the amount of support per applicant can range from BAM 15,000 to a maximum of BAM 300,000, while the amount of support per subcontractor can range from BAM 1,500 to BAM 8,000.

For any project, the applicant must ensure co-financing of the total eligible costs in the amount of at least 25% of the total amount of eligible costs. The applicant can secure the requested co-financing from own funds or through participation of subcontractors. The maximum amount of grants through this support measure awarded by the Projects is 75% of the total amount of eligible costs, that is, a minimum of BAM 15,000 or a maximum of BAM 300,000 per proposed project.

The Call is open for applications from 15 January 2023, and the deadline is 28 February 2023, by 15:00 hours.

The Public Call is available to anyone interested through the official website of the project, eu4agri.ba.

 

Applications are submitted through e-application system only, at https://javnipoziv.undp.ba/ provided by the EU4AGRI project. Applications submitted in any other format (e-mail, mail, fax, etc.) are not eligible and will not be considered.

 

The first info session will be held online, via Facebook page of the EU4AGRI project. The timing will be announced at a later stage.

Additional inquiries regarding this Call can be submitted via question form on the project website https://javnipoziv.undp.ba/ from 15 January 2023 to 20 February 2023. Any questions received before or after the deadline will not be answered.

As part of EU4AGRI, the EU provides support for strengthening the competitiveness of agriculture and rural development in BiH. Through EU4AGRI-Recovery, the EU extends its support to Bosnia and Herzegovina in mitigating the economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on agri-food companies and rural tourism operators, and ensuring the continuity of their business, while through EU4BusinessRecovery it mitigates the impacts of the pandemic on agricultural and tourism companies, micro, small and medium enterprises. The European Union allocated 28 million Euros for all three projects.
